It's all about LOVE at Scrapmatts

There is a fantastic challenge going on in February at Scrapmatts. It has been set by Cathy and as it is the month of love it is all about LOVE.

The challenge is to have the word Love on your project, a heart(s) and some paint. You also have to have some scrapmatts on your LO. I decided to not go down the traditional route and this is what I came up with:

Show us your Stuff January Sketch

Yesterday I decided to have a go at the Show us your Stuff January Sketch. I used a photo which was taken late last year by Nikala from Toffee Photography.

I had seen this feather on Pinterest and decided to have a go at making one and putting it on a page. I used some MME FunDay papers (which I am currently LOVING) and I also hand cut the heart using a template I made up. I have a fabulous flower from Li'l Red Rocket and the cute little heart sticking out there is a Scrapmatts.

Then I decided to play on the feather theme and use the title here.

Scrap the Boys - January

After finishing off all my back to school jobs yesterday, I finally got to scrap in the evening. I got a little experimental and decided to try a couple of new things on the Scrap the Boys challenge.

The first thing that I decided to do was have a go at the Wet Technique, which is discussed by Melinda Thompson in Scrapbook Memories this month. I just LOVED her LO when she shared it with us at Purple Pumpkin, however, it didn't seem to go quite so well for me. The run seemed to bleed..... Oh well, worth a shot I say.

Then I also had a go at using some texture paste. I decided to add it to the Scrapmatts chipboard frame here and it now has a cool lumpy and wet feel to it.

Well, there you have it. As you can see, during the summer we went to visit my parents and got to go to a pool a couple of times. My youngest started LOVING jumping into the pool and all he wanted to do the whole time we were there was Just Jump.

Lots of Scrapmatts Goodness

It is my Scrapmatts day and I have lots of creations to share.

It is birthday month in our house in January as three of the four of us have our birthdays. So I made some cards to share with you all. Don't you just LOVE that cute kitchenware.

Then I want to share with you a project I was asked to do by my mother. My cousin is a florist and has made some lovely flower arrangements. I was given a selections of quick snaps of some of her arrangements and asked to "make something" with it. I got a frame from Ikea which has a 12x12 centre and this is what I came up with.

I used some of the Scrapmatts chipboard Flowers (CB1026) which I double heat embossed, so initially sending them purple and then making the tips sliver. With all the layers of flowers, I used X-Press It Gel Glue. There is a comp over at the X-Press It Blog site at the moment, where you use their glue on a project and share it for the chance to win.

And if you miss the "old pritt" I would have to say this is your answer. It is tacky from the start and sticks REALLY well.

Here is my title.

Then I had a little fun with some cogs. I created this LO based on a pencil lines sketch and have also discovered how well and easily the Scrapmatts can be coloured with the new Tim Holtz Distress Stains.

123 Challenge for January

Well I haven't had that much time to be creative this weekend yet as it is the "birthday weekend" with both my children and myself celebrating birthdays in the space of a few days. Anyway, I did get a little crafty on Friday with one of my scrappy friends. The children were all playing sooooo nicely and so I got one done.

I had a go at the 123 Challenge this month.

I have silver, splats and I chose to sneak the word joy into enjoy :). And for some closies of my title.

I heat embossed my3 Chipboard to make it glitter black.

Yes, I have gotten into a bit of a love affair with the MME Funday range at the moment as well as making Washi tape flags (from D-Lish). Thanks for Looking.

The criteria at White with One are Lime and Buttons.... you said buttons, so here you go..... The buttons are from a trim I purchased at one of the craft shows last year.

I added some Rainbow Splendour and a little Whimsy.

Yes, that is my current favourite font again...

Stuck Sketch for January....

Well I had a fun playing with the girls when they came over for our first scrap session of the year yesterday. The kids all played very well and I almost finished one layout. But after everyone left I kept going and I got two more done. Although I can't share some of them yet, I did do the current sketch challenge over at Stuck.

I had been getting a little bored with some of the fonts I had been using (I seemed to go back to the same ones all the time) and so I went for a hunt around the joys of the web and discovered a new font (well new for me anyway). It is called Sick Capital Vice. It took awhile to stitch, but I LOVE how it turned out and you may see some more of this in the future.

I also added some chippies from Scrapmatts. A cute as Reindeer and some measuring spoons from one of the new kitchen collections.

We are having a nice and quiet weekend at home after several weeks away, so it looks like there might be some more creation time for me :)

New Challenge at Scrapmatts....

With a New Year and a new month, comes new challenges, and this month at Scrapmatts, we have a card challenge with a twist. You need to make a card (s) which have black chipboard on them. I made mine with one of the teasets from Scrapmatts and I coloured it black using glimmer mist.

Here is a close up of the teacup, sugar bowl and milk jug.

I just had a read of the Scrapbook Memories Masters Magazine and that was an AWESOME read. A huge congratulations to all the Masters, your work is Amazing.

I just wanted to share with you the other items I created entry which did not make it into the magazine. For my first share it is the Hidden Journalling challenge.

The booties on this page were shoes which are actually worn for several months by my son in his first summer in the US. I wanted to really play with the "Born in the USA" theme and so had lots of Red, White and Blue patterned paper.

I also really enjoyed seeing all the quilting that was done around different parts of the US when we lived there and so I played with this on my LO and created quilted squares. Here is a close up of the bottle cap with some of the mini quilting in did on the page.

Then for the sketch Challenge I used some pictures for the wedding my boys were in earlier this year. I decided to make some patterned paper using the sew easy.

Here is a close up of some of the Purple Pumpkin buttons I used and the fabulous heart sprays from Scrapmatts.
And another close up of the other cluster I have on the page. I lovet this Scrapmatts page runner.

For the LO of a 5x7 picture, I had this one of my friends daughter, which is just and AWESOME Picture. I decided to try and keep this one nice and simple.

Here is a close up of my title work where I had fun playing with a heat embossing technique.

I was quite pleased with how all mine turned out and am very happy to have received on HM for my double LO which you will have to check in the Magazine. Congratulations to all the Masters, your work is just DEVINE. I am really looking forward to seeing more from each of them this year.

Only 4 more sleeps!!....

It is only four more sleeps until Christmas and so I have a couple more Christmas shares for you with some AWESOME Scrapmatts. I have based my LO on the challenge at Kraft It Up this month. You had to create a LO about a Christmas Tradition.

I have used some of the Ball Balls which I coloured black, but then covered in Diamond Dust, and I must say, it was so much fun that I then kind of went crazy with the stuff on a couple of other projects....
Here is the title of my LO.

Here are some cards I made and again you can see I had some fun with the diamond dust. The Scrapmatts Titles make cards sooo easy.

Then I made some of the Christmas tree 3D ornaments and again I had some fun with the diamond dust.
Then I have a share from a LO I created for a challenge at one of the online stores I sometimes participate at. this was to make a LO featuring some chipboard you had coloured. I used heat embossing powder to make the AMAZING cogs white.

Then I decided to stitch on acetate and I think this is probably not something I will be doing again in a hurry.

X-Press It Challenge....

Yesterday the girls came over and there were eight kids running around the house, but in amongst this we managed to get a bit of scrapping done.

I finished this one off today, but here is my entry for the X-Press It Challenge. I have used 12mm. But I also have a LOVE of the foam mounting tape, which I also used on my LO. This is a fabulous challenge as you just need to use your favourite double sided tape on your project and link it to the blog, telling them which type of X-Press It tape you used.

As you can see, I also used some of the AWESOME Scrapmatts Teaset, which are soooo fabulous. I used some heat embossing powder to make them yellow and then I decided to add some stitched details to them.

Exciting News.....at Fancy That

I am really excited to announce that I am going to be teaching at Fancy That in Springfield. My first class is going to be in Late January and I am going to be teaching a class on Stitching your title. There are a couple of other techniques there too and the page can easily be converted into either a girl or boy LO.

December 123 Challenge - Time to Make some Noise

Last night I finished off my entry into the December 123 Challenge. The challenge this month was to create a Layout which used the colour Marigold, had the word Make on it and had a handmade anything. Well my Marigold is about as close as I could get. I have the word make and I made the pinwheels. Here is my take.

Wicked Princess.... more Scrap School....

We are up to Class 10 at Wicked Princess Scrap School and the class this week was to change your picture in some way. I have had this picture hanging around for over six years (as the child in the picture will soon be turning seven. I decided to make a nice and simple LO and I found some of this yummy My Minds Eye Lost and found in my collection.

I then found some of my Charms Creations in my stash and used the Stunning Yellow Sun as a part of the inspiration for the design of my LO.

Then I made my Scrapmatts Chippy Yellow to match the colour of the sun.

And there you have it. A pretty simple kind of LO for me but I must say I do like how it turned out.

Another Scrap School LO.....

Class 8 at Wicked Princess was to use stamping on your LO. I had to dig deep into my stash as I rarely use stamps, and I found these cute little tress in my collection. I also had some really YUMMO Crate Paper thanks to one of my friends. So here is what I created.

A moment of craziness....

Last night I decided to do some scrapping and I have done the challenge over at Wicked Princess where you needed to use some altered Chipboard. Of course I chose to use some Scrapmatts. I then made a decision to do the LO on acetate and chose to (as usual) stitch part of my title. Well I did it. I will share the whole LO on my Scrapmatts day (21 Dec) but if you want to see it all before, I am uploading to the Wicked Princess Gallery for the Scrap School Comp.

I must say, it actually hurt a bit sewing through the actate, so I don't think I will do that too often. But I do quite like the results. Who said there was no pain in scrapbooking!!

I also have decided to throw my hat in for the Kraft It Up Design team. Here is a sneak of the LO I did for my application.

Scrapmatts December Challenge....

This month we are having a challenge over at Scrapmatts inspired by the 12 Days of Christmas. All you need to do is create a Card, OTP or LO which is inspired by one or all of the 12 days of Christmas. Your creation of course must have Scrapmatts on it to be in with a chance at winning a $25 voucher in the draw.

I used the inspiration of 12 Drummers Drumming.

I have used some of the fabulous music notes made by Scrapmatts on my LO.

Class #5... handmade flowers....

Believe it or not, it took me awhile to work out what to do with this one. Weird cos I do handmade flowers all the time but I think it was because I HAD to do them that it made me think.

Anyway, here is what I came up with for Wicked Princess Class #5.

Here is a close up of my flower cluster. Don't you just love that Scrapmatt's Dragon Fly. I actually have two of them here and have went the wings up on the top ones and glued it to the bottom one to give it extra dimension.

Finishing jobs....and a little scrap school.

Well this weekend I have been trying to get ready for the end of school. So I took the challenge at Wicked Princess Scrap School and decided to use it to help me put together a gift for one of my son's teachers. I have distorted the picture so that you can't see any of the faces of the other children in my son's class as I don't have permission to publish their pictures. This is class six where you needed to do some punching. I have used a star punch and created a Layer either side behind the ruffle running down the page.

As you can see I ahve also framed it so that it is ready for the teacher to hang in her office or something as I know that if you are not a scrapper, what would you do with one page?

Then I finished off the cards for all the teachers and aids. Here is a picture of a couple of them. I decided to keep them nice and simple, with a Christmas feel, without being overwhelmingly christmassy.

Then for something different I just want to share with you one of the tasks my son did this term. They had to take to school an handmade Christmas tree ornament. I used one of the Scrapmatts bells and he coloured it in with jelly roll pens and added a little bit of bling, and there you have it.

Christmas is coming at Scrapmatts.....

The theme this month at Scrapmatts is Christmas and so I have a couple of LO's to share with you all. The first is of my friend's adorable daughter. As here head gear look like a couple of reindeer antlers, I decided to use one of the reindeer on this LO.

Here is a close up.

Then the pictures on this LO are not fabulous, but the capture the moment of the boys decorating the tree last year. We had LOTS of gold ball balls which hang on our tree and so these ball ball chippies are fabulous. They have nothing in the middle and you can add PP or a picture, but I decided to hang charms in the middle.

The charms are naturally Silver, so I also discovered they can be heat embossed as well. So I embossed them in gold so they went with the chippy. Here is a close up.

Then for my final share, it is not a Christmas one, but I got to play with the AMAZING NEW Scrapmatts Painters Tray. Several of the girls have made wonderful Christmas decorations with them, but I had my wedding bouquet hanging on the wall and hadn't done anything with it for YEARS. I finally decided to use some of them in this tray to make a memory tray.

Scrap School Class #4

Well I just finished off Class #4 at the Wicked Princess Scrap School. The class was to use Acetate in a creative way. I discovered my upgraded slice will cut acetate so I cut out some butterflies. I then dipped the tips of the wings in embossing powder and then gently heated them. It made the acetate curl beautifully. LOVE that my slice will now cut acetate.

Anyway, here is what I came up with.

I based the LO on a sketch I did for myself a couple of weeks back.

A Scrap School LO

Well I was totally lacking in MOJO this morning and some of the girls were coming over to scrap so I knew I wanted to get something done. Fortunately I had the Scrap School Comp at Wicked Princess to guide me. Lesson 3 is to Create a "Shabby Chic" inspired LO and although this is not hugely vintage, it is about as close as you are going to get for me.

I ended up basing the LO on a sketch I made for myself a couple of weeks back when I was having a lot more mojo. Yes, I twisted it and moved the title, but hey, it is my sketch isn't it LOL...

Yes that is a little me with my brother so as the photo is over 30 years old, it has got to be a vintage LO, right!!

Something a little Trisha Inspired....

On Thursday night I attended a class at Fancy That put on by Prima and the wonderful Trisha Ladouceur. I can't show you what we crated as mine is not yet finished. It is totally awesome and waiting for pictures which are good enough to put on it. But last night, I decided to do a challenge at Wicked Princess where you needed to used Hidden Journalling and so I have used some of the ideas she shared with us to create this:

I used some Basic Grey Christmas Papers I have had sitting around for ages and I had to add a bit of me to the design and I couldn't help but stitch on it.

I used Trisha's fantastic little tag making technique and pocket and lifting flap.

Out of the Hat for November....

I'm still struggling with the fact that it is November already, but this time of year always seems to creep up on me. Anyway, over the weekend I decided to have a go at the November Out of the Hat Scrap Challenge. The three elements this month were to use Two different punches (I have one border punch and also one of the New EK Success strip punches which you roll to make a flower), you also need a handmade flower and either stripes or dots (I have stripes).

I have used some delicious Scrapmatts chippy flowers and some of the wonderful Purple Pumpkin buttons.

Fancy That Monthly Challenge with some Sketchy Thursday...

I decided to have a go at the Fancy That Monthly Challenge which this month is a recipe to include a recycled object (I have some mesh stuff), some paint, string, 2 photos of any size and three buttons. I have also based my design on a sketch I found at Sketchy Thursday.

I have chosen to scrap a couple of pictures taken several years ago when we

went down to Movie World and my eldest son went for his first ride on a roller coaster.

I had some fun with the sketch and changed the banners to a bunch of arrows to emphasis the up down nature of a roller coaster ride.

Free Choice at Scrapmatts

This month there was no theme at Scrapmatts and we had free choice to come up with whatever we wanted.

I HAD five things to share, but the fifth I took to the show with me yesterday to put on display and I left it there and did not photograph, so I will have to come back later to show you my painters tray.

For my first share, I have done a sketch from Get Picky. Theirs only had two pictures on it, but I decided to go and add a couple extra.

Here is my title.

Love a bit of a cluster. I used some of the Scrapmatts Flourishes on this page.

Then I decided to have a go at Renee's Music Clip Challenge at Scrapbook Savvy. I have used the lines from the song of "la la la" to emphasis the music my little man was trying to play on the pan. I used some of the fabulous new Scrapmatts Pots and pans.

I used covered these in a crackle paint.

Then I had a go at the 15 October Stuck Sketch. It is an awesome sketch and I have scrapped an old picture of myself when I was 18 months old.

I had a lot of fun making my title for this LO and creating the clusters.

Then Scrapmatts have come out with an AWESOME cricket set. We happened to have had the boys out playing cricket in the park just a few weeks back. This is for the Scrapbook Savvy October manufacturer Challenge where you had to use Create Paper.

I used some heat embossing powder on it, and then used a pen to paint the stripes onto the bat and ball.

Scrapmatts Colour challenge with Creative Scrappers.

There is a challenge going on over at Scrapmatts and you gotta be in it to win it. The current challenge is a Colour Challenge where you have to use Kraft as your main colour, with hints of blue, green and pink. I have based my LO on the current sketch at Creative Scrappers #177.

I had fun with this and decided to have pops of the colour rather than going subtle. I used a scrapmatts word, fun, and I also used some hinges and used the raw to keep the Kraft colour.

Stuck Sketch!!! 1st October

his is a LO I completed last weekend. It is based on the October 1st Sketch at Stuck. I have used one of the never ending pack of circle's from my Scrapmatts pack. This is the pack that keeps on giving. I have also used some of the fabulous buttons from Purple Pumpkin.

With the chippy, I initially glimmer misted it and then I used some heat embossing powder around the edges. Love the effect.

I then also used the same embossing powder on my bottle cap.

Kraft it up - October Challenge

Over the weekend I did get time to do a little scrapping. I decided to have a go at the Kraft It Up challenge this month. They have a style challenge this month and as I don't really do 'vintage' and the Kraft I wanted to use meant I couldn't go monochromatic, I went with minimalist.

Love this picture but as it was taken on a phone, I printed it up small to keep it clear. I love the way this turned out. I used some Fab Scrapmatts Cogs on this LO and just inked them.

A last minute play.....

I had a last minute play along at Creative Scrappers yesterday and finished off this LO based on Sketch 175.

I have used some FABULOUS Scrapmatts to give the page my Seaside feel and I simply inked the edges a bit to give them some definition. I have also added a couple of yummy Purple Pumpkin Buttons to the page.

Creative Scrappers #173 with Purple Pumpkin

While at retreat the final LO I created was this one, based on a sketch at Creative Scrappers (no. 173). I flipped it so that my title could go before the pictures as then my full title is "Almost 5 & 7". Love the way the purple pumpkin star and a spotty button with some twine.

I love how this combination worked out.

The signs they are holding up are from Making Memories and will probably show up on a page in the not too distant future.

It is spring time at Scrapmatts.....

With Spring in the air we have all been creating Spring inspired LO's and creations at Scrapmatts. Spring to me is about enjoying the outdoors now that it is not as cold and not yet too hot. My first creation was created using a challenge kit at the Savvy Delights Retreat last weekend and I based it on the criteria at Show Us Your Stuff and also added in some Scrapmatts frame and wings.

Then I decided to have a go at the Fancy That Sketch Challenge, again using a picture of my boys enjoying the great outdoors. I have used one of the BIG circles and one of the new fabulous frames.

And for my final share this month, when I think of Spring, I always think of Flowers and butterflies and all things pretty. This LO is based on that inspiration....

A wonderful weekend creating....

I just had a fabulous weekend with Scrappy friends, and made some new scrappy friends as well. I was at the Savvy Delights Retreat. I have a few creations I would like to share and the first is one I created from the Out of the Hat Criteria. This LO was created using the picture taken at the retreat and also with the Chippy header we were given. The criteria this month were to have something handmade (I have a l'il something on here and I made some ribbon flowers), you needed a heart and some chipboard.

This LO was created based on one of the challenges at the retreat but is also the 1, 2, 3 Challenge for this month. However, I also had the idea that I wanted to re-create the feeling and moment of the flowers my son had created for me on the page.

I went to the retreat with my Aunt and here is a picture of us doing some last minute scrapping.

September Scrapmatts Challenge...

This month the challenge at Scrapmatts is a Scraplift challenge. There is some AMAZING work in the Scrapmatts Gallery so all you need to do is go the the gallery, find a LO you LOVE and 'lift it'. I did a lift of Kim Ewins LO entitled "I love how..." which you can see HERE. I have put my own spin on it, and focused on the circles. I'm glad I chose her LO as she has a different style to me but I like to try new things.

A new month and a New Challenge....

Purple Pumpkin are having a bit of a change this month and we don't have a sketch.... we have a 1, 2, 3 Challenge. 1 Lollipop/Flower, 2 Doilies, 3 Buttons.

I have the one lollipop satin flower, and I put one of the super cute floral buttons in the middle. I have white paper and pink crocheted, for my doilies. I have a clay button and a bunny button.

And I have done my usual trick of the bottle cap, but this time in white zinged it so it goes well with this Paper.

A little bit more creating....

I had lots of fun with the Purple Pumpkin blog hop over the weekend and LOVED reading all your comments. I didn't get to scrap as I have 'started' work on invites for my parents birthday party. However, I did get to scrap with the girls on Thursday and I finished these off on Friday night.

This first LO was made with the We're Savvy Kit for August, which is simply stunning. I think they have sold out already but it features some of the Authentique Pattern Papers which I think I totally LOVE!! This is for Sara's word challenge this month at Scrapbook Savvy.

Then this LO was started, on Thursday, but I wasn't sure where I was going with it, and I finished it off with some distressing and so I was able to enter it in Renee's challenge.

I have mainly used the He's Savvy kit from August, however, I did add a few bits and pieces including some Scrapmatts florishes.

Then, this is a card I created as it was the end of the soccer season and so I made this card for my son's coach. It is a simple card and the frame is a Scrapmatt's frame. The card is 6x12 so all the kids in the team and their parents can sign it.

Well, thanks for looking and I can't wait to share with you my LO's I have created for the September Challenges at Scrapmatt's and Purple Pumpkin.

When did you start scrapbooking? I started just after my eldest son was born.

What is your favourite tool? My paper piercer.

What inspires your creations? I am a challenge junkie. I LOVE sketches, word challenges, number challenges....

What is your Favourite Purple Pumpkin Embellie? I LOVE the licorice allsorts. Here is one on a LO I made awhile ago. I love how well they combine with other buttons and doilies.

What is your favourite technique? Stitching on a page. To me a page almost does not feel complete until I have stitched on it.

What are your top 3 favourite manufacturers? My Minds Eye, Cosmo Cricket and I have just discovered Authentique.

What is your favourite snack food when scrapping? A glass of wine... LOL.

What do you listen to when you are scrapping? I like watching Law and Order, or listening to my friends chat.

What scrapping product couldn't you live without? I never go anywhere without my bag of Purple Pumpkin and my bag of Scrapmatts.

What is your favourite food? Weight Watchers Chocolate Berry Mudslide - Have you tried them, they are AWESOME.

A Celebration LO for Song Challenge at Savvy...

I went to a charity scrap day for Harrisons Little Wings on Saturday. I had a LOVELY time. I did one LO which I can't share (just yet) and I started this one. This is for Renee's Music Clip Challenge at Scrapbook Savvy.

I have used a picture from the joint birthday party for my boys (which was also shared with one of the girls in my son's prep class), from January.

Scrapmatts AND Purple Pumpkin... what more could a girl ask for....

It is my turn to post on Scrapmatts and Purple Pumpkin today. I shared some of the Layouts I have previously shared with you on my blog, but I also shared a couple of new ones.

My first LO is based on the Bird is the Word Challenge from about two weeks ago, and the word was dream. I have used an AMAZING BIG Chippy clock to frame (or encircle) my picture.

I love how the different Purple Pumpkin embellies can often coordinate so well.

Here is a mail holder I have made for my husband using one of the Scrapmatt's plaques and some Purple Pumpkin.

Here is a side view so you can see how I stuck the plaques on either side of an old stationery holder.

Here is the back.

Then I made this LO based on a sketch at Fancy That. I have used some of the wonderful federation style doors, and you can see the chippy spiders.

My tree is a scrapmatts chipboard tree and I have some glass beads which look like leaves and I have stitched them all onto the page.

My 2 Angels "show us your charm" challenge

Here is a LO I created and I made a little discovery about the charm. I really love how it worked out as I played on the gold ribbon which is what wraps the gift in front of my son (who is now 6).

I used some Lovely Purple Pumpkin goodies. I clustered and used some Scrapmatts chippy. the hinges worked out really well in purple.

I also discovered my gold pen worked wonders on the My2Angels Charm and I was able to colour the ribbon gold on it. It really worked in with my theme.

More fun with an Out of the Hat Challenge...

Last night I had some fun with the Out of the Hat Challenge for this month. The challenge was to use at least one square picture, paint and strip journalling.... I must say I am very happy with how this one turned out and I LOVE the Purple Pumpkin clay buttons on there.

The Bevelled edge Scrapmatts frame really sets off the pictures and I love those chippy spiders.

Playing with new goodies.....

I had a super week last week as I got deliveries of new Purple Pumpkin and Scrapmatts. What more could a girl ask for.

So I have been playing with some of them and used the inspiration at Scrap the Boys this month. When I saw the fun and bright colours in the inspiration room I just knew I had to scrap this picture of my son at Seaworld from earlier this year. I have also drawn on the neutral wood tones to incorporate some Kraft.

I LOVE the new Scrapmatts Circles. I have heat embossed them in different colours and they just POP. Love it.

LOVE these new Banner Buttons. So fun and bright and could work with soooo many designs.

Scrap the Boys - July

Having been sick as a dog for the last week and the boys being sick as well, scrapping has been a bit of a struggle. However, I did finish off this one which was started a little while ago. This is for Scrap the Boys, where the challenge was to use tape on your LO and use the word Play in your title. So here is what I came up with.

I used my tape to cover the chipboard. It was fun wrapping it around and gives the chippy a bit of a different look.

I have been playing along at the cybercrop this weekend at Scrapbook Savvy. They are helping out with our MOJO with some fun challenges.

Kerryn has challenges us with a fun puzzle challenge. Here is my take on the pieces....

As you can see I had LOTS of fun using one of the Scrapmatt's Frames and then LOTS of Purple Pumpkin.

Then I had a go at Renee's challenge which was a Technique Challenge and if you thought I wouldn't do this one then you SEW don't know me... (OK sad joke)

This LO was made using the Your Savvy Kit which Sara So skillfully designs and puts together for us all, and I have added in a couple of Purple Pumpkin Buttons.

Some Challenges and a Guest DT Opportunity

As usual I have been doing challenges and the first one I am sharing with you is from the Random Kit challenge at Scrapbook Savvy for July with the Your Savvy Kit.

And as usual, I couldn't help myself and I felt the urge to add a purple Pumpking button mounted on a bottle cap to it.

My next LO is for a sketch Challenge at my Local Scrapbooking Store, Fancy That. I have again LOVED using a Purple Pumpkin Doily and big Tree button.

That giant Flamingo I found at a dollar shop and was a luggage tag. I cut it out and thought I looked great with this Kaiser Patterned Paper.

I haven't and probably won't manage any scrapping this weekend as I am trying to finish off my homework. I've been helping out my son's teacher with some of the pages for the end of year book. I was tasked with the Mother's Day LO and so have been working on making some flowers to go with the page.
Lea was nice enough to help me with the scrunching of these tissue flowers last night. I've already mounted the pictures and writting, punched the leaves, cut out the titles and so now I only have to assemble the pages.

A quick challenge LO....

The other day (while watching the State of Origin) I decided to have a go at Sar's Random Kit Challenge at Scrabpook Savvy. And, Yes, this is a LO where I have NOT stitched the title, but did a lot of other stitching on it as you can see.

As you can see I created a stitched background and so couldn't stitch over it, but think these red tickers really work with the picture.

White with One and Whimsy Challenge

The other weekend I did a couple of challenges (as I seem to do). I did the White with One Challenge which was Teal (gotta love TEAL). The One extra this month was Chipboard, so how could I go past some Scrapmatts.

You gotta love how that one Purple Pumpkin button really finished off this LO.

Then I decided to have a go at My Little Bit of Whimsy sketch challenge this month. I have ordered some more but the canadian postal strike means my supply of whimsy is running a little low, but I did have these great icecreams. My boys went to their cousins birthday party and their aunt has some amazing icecream at the end of the party.

Those lamp posts are fabulous and are from Scrapmatts. This was also another great opportunity to work in a wonderful Purple Pumpkin Owl buttons.

Purple Pumpkin First Birthday Celebrations...

This month marks one year since Purple Pumpkin started and to celebrate, Sam has loads of fun things in store for us this month. There is the Sketch Challenge this month, and there is going to be a Facebook competition as well and some giveaways. Make sure you are following the blog and have 'liked' them on Facebook to ensure you don't miss out.

First up is the Sketch Challenge. The sketch was created by Belinda this month and here is my take on it.I ended up using three pictures instead of one, but had fun with this. I have used one of the denim flowers. This originally had an orange spotty button on it, which didn't go with my LO so I changed it to this Apple button. I've also used some allsorts and another striped button.

Savvy Challenges

I had a little time left at the end of the month and my He's Savvy Kit arrived so I thought I would play along with some of the challenges at Savvy.

The first challenge was a sketch challenge. It is a sketch with a twist as the sketch was based on someone else's LO.

Here is a little Closeup of one of the clusters.

Then I did the song challenge. The challenge this month was to be inspired by the film clip of Just the way you are by Bruno Mars. I used some of the lyrics and also the use of the black tape which is in the film clip and used it as inspiration to do lots of black boarders.

A Stuck Sketch with Purple Pumpkin...

I have been having fun playing with some of the new buttons at Purple Pumpkin. My first share I used LOTS of buttons to creat this LO for the current challenge over at Stuck Sketches.

As you can see, I have had lots of fun, using a Large spotty button, and normal purple spotty button, an bird button which I Have make a felt flower around, I have a hessian flower and also the cutest little bunny button.

A couple of challenges

Yesterday I had a lovely scrappy day. In the morning some of the girls came over and so as the children ran around the house, we scrapped, interruped occasionally but requests for drinks, more food etc, etc. I had a go at Sara's wordy challenge over at Scrapbook Savvy. Here challenge was to use the word LOVE on your LO.

I have stitched the word LOVE across the bottom of the page with my Sew Easy. Also I love how that giant purple pumpkin button adds to the 'angle' effect of my LO.

Then in the evening I went out to Scrap of Difference and did a couple of challenges I did the Sketch Challenge over at Storyboard Kits. They are having an AWESOME challenge where you have to combine a technique with a Pecil Lines sketch. The technique I used was to create a painted background. I cut a template from acetate and painted it firstly with paint, and then painted it with glitter as well. I have also experimented with some acetate flowers. I saw these somewhere but I can't remember where and decided to give them a go myself. I'm quite pleased with how they worked out.

I also love the way this Scrapmatt's border looks on this LO. Here is a close up of my flower.

Finally, while waiting for my paint and glitter to dry last night on my other LO, I had a go at the card challenge for the June Scrap of Difference cybercrop. The challenge was to have a mainly blue card, with crystal bling and at least one snowflake. Michelle shared some punched snowflakes with me and I incorporated them into some flowers. Here is the final card.

Scrapmatts Day.... (warning, image overload)

It is my day at Scrapmatts today and first of all I want to share with you my Cookie Jar and Cracker Barrel. I made these first of all by cleaning out old Moccona Coffee Jars and have then used some of the fabulous ATC's to creat the labels for the jars.

Here is a LO I created with the random Kit at the Wicked Princess Retreat.

Here is my birthday themed LO which is created using the May He's Savvy Kit. Loved the Lime Twist Patterned Papers in his kit. I also created some bottle caps with dates of my boys birthdays punched out in them as they both celebrate their birthdays within three days of one another.

Creative Scrappers Guest for #161

I was offered the opportunity to be a guest at Creative Scrappers for sketch #161. It is a fabulous sketch (as you can see). I took a very literal interpritation of the sketch.

I had some fun putting some Purple Pumpkin buttons on here (gotta love that big SPOTTY one) and also some Scrapmatts chippy shells.

Pink, Black, Grey and White.....

On Purple Pumpkin today I wanted to share a LO I created while on the Wicked Princess Retreat. It was a colour challenge and they were Pink, Black Grey and White. If you know me, this is a REAL challenge as I don't do pink. I did however have a fabulous pink doily and button from Purple Pumpkin.

As you can see, my obsession with bottle caps has continued. I discovered you can heat emboss them to change their colour.

I had some fun playing with heat embossing. I cute the word Ash out on my slice and then Cynthia put it through the Xyron. I then embossed over the top of the letters, and after I finished I removed the letters and this is what I got. I think it looks rather effective.

Bottle tops on Purple Pumpkin

I have just done my share on Purple Pumpkin today and my LO is based on the 1st of May Stuck Sketch. I used a large part of my He's Savvy Kit for May. I have added a bit of Cog Chipboard from Scrapmatts which highlights the 'making' part of my LO.

This is my spotty button in the bottle top which I painted silver.

I also LOVE the dinosour button from Purple Pumpkin.

Just a quick share.....

My first share is for the current sketch at Creative Scrappers. I have to stay I really loved this sketch and it also allowed me to use some of the ribbon from the car on the LO.

Then I decided to have a go at the Kraft it up challenge this month. It is to use no Patterned Paper. Didn't quite work out how I had planned it, but you know how that happens sometimes. However, I really love how the picture frame hangs off of the word.

Then I decided I wanted to make my friend a birthday card. Now this friend I sat next to at a retreat once and she spent 7 hours, yes I repeat, 7 hours, making a card. So I know she will appreciate it when I give her a handmade card. I used the 123 Challenge for inspiration and you needed fire engine red, the word fun and a stitched word (I think I can do that LOL).

Artsy Grunge at Aussie

Aussie Scrap Source have a challenge at the moment to try and discover the 'Artsy Grunge' style which is so beautifully demonstrated by Leanne Pearce.

I decided to 'give it a go'. I have used paint (which is not very common for me except on chippy) and also glimmermist. I then did some layering.

I had some fun with some of Leanne's Chip Chop Shop flowers and layered them with a bottlecap I mad and also some Purple Pumpkin Buttons.

I also used some of the fantastic new hanging frames from Scrapmatts.

Just the way I planned it.....

I have created my sample for the sketch challenge over at Purple Pumpkin. And I would have to say that don't you just love it when a Layout works out just the way you planned it. I actually flipped the sketch upside down, but other than that, it is pretty accurate.

I have used some yummy Scrapmatts chippy on here for the fence and the sign. I have also used that great hessian flower and the blue spotty buttons. And also used some of the fabulous new twine.

Purple Pumpkin Day

I have just done my post on Purple Pumpkin and have shared some close ups of the LO. It was inspired by a colour challenge that was crated by Sara and posted in the challenges at Scrapbook Savvy, but silly me, forgot to put it in the gallery by the 'due date'. I'm not worried tho as I love how the LO turned out. Purple is also my sister-in-law's favourite colour.

I have to say I love how the Scrapmatt's Dragonflies work on this LO. And if you haven't seen it already, there is a sketch challenge on at Purple Pumpkin. This LO is where I started when I was creating this sketch. You can probably see some of the elements as I was going to use this LO as the basis of the sketch. But hen I got playing and it took me in a whole new direction and I ended up HERE....
Now I just need to use my own sketch to make a sample. Hopefully I will be back in the next couple of days with my sample for you all.....

Express Yourself Competition....

Well I know I have not been posting a great deal of late but over the weekend my boys were pageboys in a wedding and I am sure quite a few pictures of them will feature in future LO's.

But I have been scrapping and one thing was to create an entry for the Express yourself competition which was in one of the Scrapbook memories Mag's a couple of months back. Today I got the happy e-mail to say it has been selected in the top 20 for the traditional LO section and will go on display at the Brisbane Papercraft Convention and Expo. Because you had to scrap yourself, they are not making the entries anonomous this year. I know several other people who have also been selected in the top 20 so there are going to be heaps of fabulous LO's to check out in real life.

As you can see I have put some Scrapmatts floral Design and some Purple Pumpkin buttons and doily.

If you are heading there over the long weekend, you should definately drop by as I know there are heaps of amazing entries. I even got the pleasure of seeing two of them being created at a scrappy day I went to.

My Aunt and Cousin flew up on Thursday (although they were meant to arrive on Wednesday), and I must say I didn't get much done, but I had a lot of fun.

Here are some of the LO's we created over the few days. Marilyn managed to do two double pages and one single and Joanne made three doubles and three singles. And in this time I did one and a half LO's. I wonder who was talking too much LOL....

The one LO I finished was for a colour challenge on Scrapbook Savvy, but I forgot to photograph it on Saturday and so managed to miss the deadline!! Oh well, I will share it a little later anyway.

Wow, what a day...

I had a seriously scrappy day yesterday, and LOVED watching the awesome creativiness of Sarah, Sara, Crystal and Renee. It is awesome when you meet people who all come from such different backgrounds and scrapping styles, but when you sit around it is just great to see everyone create.

I'm not the fastest scrapper so I was SUPER pleased to FINISH two LO's and I also almost finished one, but I completed it this morning.

The first LO I did was for the Easter Cybercrop at Scrapbook Savvy and I did Kerryn's puzzle challenge. I also want to thatn Sara for the ticket she gave me. I was going to make one, but she had a PERFECT red and blue one which goes really well with my LO.

Here is the bunny I made which was made from a paper piecing pattern at Scrapbooks etc. But it is sitting alongside a LOVELY felt flower by PP. I also have a Scrapmatt's ATC which is egg shaped. I inked it white and then coated it in DM and wrapped a piece of ribbon around it and put a bow on it.

My next LO was for Sarah's Random Kit challenge at Scrapbook Savvy. I used the He's Savvy Kit and here is what I created.

The challenge needed Layering and I think Crystal counted I had 11 layers (as seen below).

Then I had a go at the 1st of April Sketch at Stuck. I used the He's Savvy kit again.

My Purple Pumpkin Share....

I'm currently on my way down the Gold Coast for a fun filled day of Scrappin with some LOVELY Ladies.

But in the mean time, I have just shared a LO on Purple Pumpkin... here is a sneak....

The LO is based on a sketch at Sketchy Thursday (which I am tooo late to enter) and also inspired by a challenge at Challenge Heaven where they wanted you to scrap an every day moment and include twine.

Some Scrapmatts and Purple Pumpkin....

It is my turn to post on Scrapmatts and it was my turn two days ago on Purple Pumpkin I have lots to share with you...

The first LO I want to share with you is one I have done for White with One this month. The colour is Olive green. I have used an amazing vine from Scrapmatts and inked it green, and then added an adorable crowned frog button and a green button from Purple Pumpkin. I also used one of her doillies which I have cut in half to sneak out the top.

Then just this weekend, there was a challenge at Scrap of Difference for the Cybercrop and there was a Kaiser sketch to use. I found I had some Construct Kaiser PP which went perfectly with my son's team colours. I have used the Scrapmatts Chipboard soccer balls, which look FANTASTIC, and I stuck them to some of the blue PP to make them blue and I added some dimensional magic. Unfortunately they didn't photograph particularly well as it has been drizzy and dark ever since I did the LO.

Then here is a creations I have made using one of the fabulous Plaques from Scrapmatts. I have incoprorated it with an amazing heart from and some of their ever so YUMMY butterflies and some leaves. This was created for the current challenge at Show us your Stuff which is to show off your buttons.

I have used a Purple Purple Pumpkin flower and a red vine design button. There is another button on the other side.

Once Upon a Sketch with a dash of PP and Scrapmatts....

A couple of days ago I posted on Purple Pumpkin for the first time an here is what I shared.

I created this LO for the first challenge at Once Upon A... Sketch. After posting it I realised that I had almost forgotten to put on my handwritten journalling.... don't worry it is here now.

I turned the sketch sideways and had some fun with it.

I totally LOVED using the cute Teddy Bear fire fighters and with a coordinating Big blue button and denim/blue spotty flower.

I also love the accent of the cogs from Scrapmatts have on my page here as I think it highlights the way the little girl is 'working it out' with her toy.

Scrap the Boys... first time in AGES...

I decided to have a ago at Scrap the Boys which I have not had a go at in AGES. The challenge was to scrap a LO inspired by your son/husband's outfit. I remembered this really cute picture of my little man dressed up as a doctor. He is holding a bird and so I thought he was treating the animals and so have used lots of little bits of animals on my LO.

I had some fun with different animals, some were Scrapmatts, and then I have a couple of Purple Pumpkin buttons (don't you love that little hedgehog).

Some Challenges with Scrapmatts

Last night I did play a little with my March Kit from Scrapbook Savvy. Yes, I know it is late, but better late than never. It is a fabulous kit as it came with some Purple Pumpkin goodies. I decided to use my kit to have a go at Anthea's Sketch Challenge.

As you might see, I also threw in one of the Scrapmatts lamp posts onto this LO as I think it is o cute.

I also decided to have a go at the Show Us your Stuff sketch, but decided to convert it into a card (just for something different). I used a bunch of Scrapmatts on this and I just love those vine florishes.

I'm still not sure about this card, but there is an impending birthday coming so I guess it is going to have to get sent off ASAP anyway :)

A Just Because LO....

I had this picture of my son and I had some more of the LOVELY Echo Park For the Record Papers and so I decided to make something.

I used a bevelled edge frame from Scrapmatts and then used a whole set of a really cute bug kit from Purple Pumpkin.

We're Savvy Guest DT

Last month I won the random Kit Challenge at Scrapbook Savvy and as a result, I won the We're Kit and am Guest DT this month.

Here is what I crated with the kit and I have got all sorts left over still.

When I ordered my kit this month, I also got one of the Martha Stewart three butterfly punches and put it to good use with this kit.

Then on Friday, I went to the Craft Expo and got myself a new boarder punch... fabulous stary one. I put it to good use on this LO and I loved how versitle this kit was as I managed to make a christmas LO with the kit.

A Harry Potter birthday book...

If you have been wondering why I have not posted a lot of late, then the answer will partially be following.

My nephew is turning 7 in a couple of weeks and my sister-in-law decided to have a Harry Potter themed birthday party. I have decided to make a book for him (which his mother can possibly use to create a birthday album with later) which is Harry Potter themed.

I bought a cheap book from Big W and covered it with Kraft, then used some rubbons (inspired by the monthly challenge at Scrap of Difference) and covered one of the Scrapmatt's ATC's with PP. I have also used one of the locks on the front.

My inside divider pages are inspired by different classes that Harry Potter took while at Hogwarts. As you will see I have used lots of different bits of Scrapmatts Chipboard on EVERY page.

Love these cage here with the cat.

This is a circle frame, but I cut it in half and wrapped it around the piece of PP.

Then I have used one of the Topiaries, but cut the top off and added one of the heart vines on top. I used the heart I cut off of here on the Potion bottle up the top.

Gotta love those clocks.

Scrapmatts... Oh how I miss thee....

Well it is my day to share my Scrapmatts. I have been scrapping, but there has been little time, so here is a post of most of the LO's I have done of late.

My first LO was created because of the theme at Show us Your Stuff. You had to scrap, something you can't live without. I know it is corny, but it is true, once you have your children you really don't want anything to happen to them, so I scrapped about them.

Then for my second LO, this was kind of a just because. I did it early in the month and I think I used a sketchy thursday sketch (whoops, can't quite remember now).

Then I to make a LO based on the challenge at Out of the Hat this month. It was to create a LO with a number in the title, twine, and your own journalling spot. Mine I created with a stamp.

Then I decided to have a go a the Stuck?! sketch from 1 March. LOVE this sketch and thought it really suited to go with this picture of my friends son who is playing under the tree which she used to play under as a child.

LOTS of Purple Pumpkin of course on all of these LO's. (can't help it)

but I just couldn't as I am so excited. I have been asked to be a part of the first Purple Pumpkin Design Team. Oh, I was so excited the other day when I found out, but decided to wait for as long as I could anyway....

Mad About Scrappin - Day at the Zoo

Leanne and Mad About Scrappin asked me to create a couple of pages using this VERY cute kit she has put together and it is fabulous value at $11.90. Here is what she sent me.....

I didn't add much, just a bit of ribbon, twine, staples and yellow cardstock. I used zing on the title, but you could do it with yellow ink if you wanted to. I stapled here and there on the first LO as well.

Unfortunately I have been sick for almost a week now and there has been no scrapping going on in this house. I finally got myself to the doctors yesterday and now have assorted medication so hopefully I will be on the mend soon. I miss it. Sorry I have nothing to share but I have just not been doing anything but I have one of my regular scrap days planned for Wednesday (as long as I am up to it).

MEGA Scrapmatts Post....

Well, I have been creating heaps with my Scrapmatts and today was my turn to post on the site, so here are all my creations....

When I saw this frame it just spoke to me and I needed to turn it into something. I love the way this turned out and how it frames my pictures so well.

Here is a close up of my title area...

My second LO is based on a sketch at Creative Scrappers but I did the LO for the Show Us your Stuff first challenge for the month. It had to be a love theme based LO and also include a handmade heart.

Gotta love that Purple Pumpkin and MLBW bird and how it works with the My2Angels Charm.

Then I was sent the really cute house book which is made by scrapmatts. I have included lots of other scrapmatts goodies inside but there is a blog post at Scrapmatts which shows all the inside of the book. You can see that HERE. I love the way my little man appears to be looking out the window of the book.

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law celebrated their 40th birthdays and 15th wedding anniversary earlier this month and also held a vowel renewal. Well that is one card that I don't think Hallmark makes and so I came up with this as our card for them.

Isn't that Topiary devine. I used the heart from the centre of the topiary and coloured it black and used down the bottom.

I wasn't going to share this LO until later but couldn't help it as I LOVE it so much. I created it based on the current Stuck Sketch. I have used some fabulous Scrapmatts Frames and Gears and also some wonderful Purple Pumpkin Goodies.
