Blog Hop with a Difference ...

If you a scrap blog reader you may have noticed the blog hop with a difference happening across the creative blogosphere :)

I was nominated by the super fabulous Renee Iveson and I would strongly suggest you go and check our her blog HERE.   Thanks for the nomination Renee!!

Next are the answers to the questions for my part of the blog hop!

1. What am I working on right now :

Here's a little bit of something that I have started.

I have had this LO as an idea for awhile but I am still looking for the right bits to finish it off.

2. How long does it take to create a project:

Well, for me, the time it takes to make a LO depends on what I want to make.  And because a LO does not feel finished until I have put a needle through it, sometimes that can be a very long time.

For example, this LO, which I did about a year ago for my entry into the Diva competition, and was published in Scrapbook Creations, took me about 8 hours of sewing (spread out over 2-3 days).  But at other times they can fly together.

3. What are my favourite things I love to create with at the moment:

I Love the following:
  • Urban Threads stitching Templates
  • Flairs
  • A bit of chippy (always need a bit of that).
  • My needle and thread (well what else would you expect from me!!!)

4. How does my writing/creating process work:

Well I am a challenge driven scrapper.  It helps me focus into what I am going to scrap and what items I intend to use on my page.  Therefore, as an example, here is a LO I just completed.  This is for the current challenge 123 Challenge.  Now I don’t know that I totally fits the criteria, as this sometimes happens with me. (probably don't quite have enough pink, but hey it is NOT my favourite colour LOL)

The criteria were:

As you can see I did get a little carried away with the teal. - but I have the baby pink, then I have the word love on my scrapmatts arrow, and I have stripes on the washi tape (some is chevron, but some is blue)

And for a couple of close ups:

5. How do I become inspired and stay inspired:

As I said before, I am a challenge driven scrapper, so if I am not sure about where to go or what I am going to do next, I go and check out the latest crop of challenge sites.  Do a sketch or look at other scrappers who I admire and check out what they have been up to, and see if I am going to try one of the challenge that they are on the DT for.

6. What is my signature style:

What is my signature style.  Well I like to try new things, however I think this goes without saying, I like to sew.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have enjoyed my little share.

Next stops are on Monday 11th August:

Crece Thomas:  I used to work for Crece when she was a co-owner of my LSS (alas no longer with us).  She is a creative soul and I am also on the Design team with her at Scrapmatts.  She is so experimental in her style and I love the fact that she is never afraid to try new things.  Check her out HERE.

Leanne Jago: Leanne is someone who is super creative, not just scrapbooking.  She is also an amazing photographer and I love to watch her #skyporn and how she gets up close to the rust.  She has not been scrapping as much of late, however I ADORE her style of whatever goes and love to see what things I would have never thought of putting on a page, but she makes them work together.  HERE.

Quick and Easy Christmas Cards with Scrapmatts and a Shadow Box

I have some Scrapmatts Sharing to do today.  Here is a set of two cards and a Tag I made that are getting ready for Christmas.

Here is my tag, designed with the idea of getting organised for Christmas with tabs of what things need to be organised.

Then I created two super easy (made easy by the fabulous Scrapmatts Chipboard)

Then here is another shadow box I have created, featuring a heat frame, some vines and dragon flies.

Look at that Charms Creations Heavenly Heart, layered on the Scrapmatts Chipboard,  I love how well the different textures work together.

Thanks for looking, I have been doing a lot of other Scrapping, just not much I can share at the moment.

D-Lish Cotton Candy

The mood board this month at D-Lish is called Cotton Candy and it is D-LISH!!...

Here is my take on it.

Here is the mood board.  As you can see I have used the colour pallet.  I was also very inspired by the two flower wreaths and so decided to use that as the main part of my inspiration.  There is also lots of flower and so I added some flower embellishment elements.

For some close ups:

Hope you too can be inspired by this super cute inspiration board.  The Creative Team have done an AMAZING job so go check them all out HERE and can't wait to see what you do with it.

Thanks for Looking.

Playing along at D-Lish Scraps 5th Birthday Crop

I acutally got some time to do a little scrapping for myself over the weekend.  I decided to play along at the D-Lish Scraps 5th Birthday Crop.  I tackled Wendy's Colour Challenge.

I love the colours and so found a picture that would work.

I have also used some Scrapmatts Chopboard, and D-Lish Wahi and Flair.

I hope you like my take on the challenge.  As a D-Lish CT member, I am not eligible for the prize, but it was lots of fun just to play along.

Thanks for Looking.

July D-Lish Inspiration

Isn't the inspiration this month from D-Lish just Delicious :)

I knew just what I wanted to do when I saw this inspiration board.  I took inspiration from the typewritter, clipped to the line.  I found the design for a typewritter and decided I wanted to make it with paper coming out of it.

I have used the colour pallet and i have used pegs to clip the photo to a bit of twine (like that in the Inspiration board).

I have used washi and a flair.

Here I used the heart cabochons, and covered some plain paper in heart washi, then glued the cabochons to it.  This is my take on the three hanging hearts at the top of the inspiration board.

And here is a close up of my typewritter.

I can't wait to see how everyone else is inspired by the mood board.  Thanks for looking and check out all the other fabulous takes the DT have come up with.

Feathery Fun

Scrapmatts released some new Feathers at the Scrapbook and Craft Show in June and as soon as I saw them I knew what I wanted to make with them.  I had this design in my head for awhile but it had stitched feathers in the original, but when i saw the chippy ones I thought that would REALLY work.

I also have some shadow boxes I have created.

Some close ups of these shadow boxes can be found on the Scrapmatts Blog.

Hope you like my creations.  I'll be back tomorrow to share something else :)

June Scrap the Boys..... going big picture....

The challenge this month at Scrap the Boys is to create a LO using a picture 5x7 or larger.  I went to Big W and they happened to be having a special on 8x12 images, so that is what I got.  The train in the background is a picture I took on our family holiday to Cairns last year.

This challenge was fabulous, as it only took a couple of extra pieces and VoiLa, there is your completed LO.

And some yummy Scrapmatts tags and a frame.

I hope you like what I have made, this was my last challenge for Scrap the Boys on the Design team, but it has been soooooo much fun, 10 months of fun.  Hope you are inspired to get out there and make something.
