Just for fun....at D-Lish

I found some time to get some crafting done over the weekend and managed to get a couple of Layouts made using the criteria at the D-Lish cyber crop.  This LO has been created using a picture I received from our future neighbours, upon the arrival of their daughter.  I asked them for permission to scrap the pictures and so here is my first LO made with one of the pictures we received.

This LO you had to use purple and flower/s.

I loved using some chipboard elements and I am LOVING the new font that Scrapmatts has.

And some charmy goodness just hanging in there.

Thanks for looking and I will come back soon with some more I made.

Black With Two DT Reveal for October

I have recently joined the Black with Two Design team, to try and push myself with something new.

Little did I know that the first inspiration board would REALLY push me.  Mulberry and Pink.  Did I ever mention I am NOT a pink person......

So here is my take on the board.

And for a few close ups.

I ended up very happy with what I created.  It is fun to push yourself sometimes.  I'd love to see what you can do with the Black With Two Inspiration board this month.

Thanks for Looking

Testing out some Inka Gold and What's ON

Today I want to share with you some pages I shared on Scrapmatts the other day....

Firstly, here is a page I created and was playing around with some Inka Gold on Scrapmatts Chipboard leaves.  I used it on the edges and also with some on the middle and then coloured the rest of the leaves with some Gelatos.

Here is a little bit of a close up of my leaves.

Then I was participating in a challenge, where we had specific items we had to use on our page.
I created this page and added some Scrapmatts chipboard Christmas words to help finish it off.

Hope you like my creations.

Also, from 8-12 October, the Craft Fair comes to Brisbane, and I am tag teaming with the fabulous Crece to run some fabulous Hands Classes.  We have a Silver Chirstmas Shadow Box Class, and A Starry Christmas Class.  For more details check HERE.

Thanks for Looking.

Getting a little Stuck with Scrapmatts

Scrapmatts are one of the sponsors for Stuck Sketches this month, and we were asked if we would like to participate in their sketch.

Here is the Sketch.

As you can see, I have used a little artistic licence to create this LO, but I love using the little cupcakes.

I added a little colour to the patty pan, by painting it with some Gelato.

Then I decided to have some more fun and I created this not so vintage LO, but with a bit of a vintage picture.  Yes, that is me, the little girl in the picture.

I have layered some chipboard butterflies over the top of some stitched butterflies.

Then I have done a little bit of layering, with gauze, chipboard and some flowers.

I hope you have liked my creations and get the opportunity to play along at Stuck this month, maybe using some Scrapmatts and share in the Ning.

Thanks for Looking.

Here is my title....

And I used some fabulous Scrapmatts Chippies.....

Don't freak out.... I did sew on some others I will share later.  LOL....
Thanks for Looking.

Blog Hop with a Difference ...

If you a scrap blog reader you may have noticed the blog hop with a difference happening across the creative blogosphere :)

I was nominated by the super fabulous Renee Iveson and I would strongly suggest you go and check our her blog HERE.   Thanks for the nomination Renee!!

Next are the answers to the questions for my part of the blog hop!

1. What am I working on right now :

Here's a little bit of something that I have started.

I have had this LO as an idea for awhile but I am still looking for the right bits to finish it off.

2. How long does it take to create a project:

Well, for me, the time it takes to make a LO depends on what I want to make.  And because a LO does not feel finished until I have put a needle through it, sometimes that can be a very long time.

For example, this LO, which I did about a year ago for my entry into the Diva competition, and was published in Scrapbook Creations, took me about 8 hours of sewing (spread out over 2-3 days).  But at other times they can fly together.

3. What are my favourite things I love to create with at the moment:

I Love the following:
  • Urban Threads stitching Templates
  • Flairs
  • A bit of chippy (always need a bit of that).
  • My needle and thread (well what else would you expect from me!!!)

4. How does my writing/creating process work:

Well I am a challenge driven scrapper.  It helps me focus into what I am going to scrap and what items I intend to use on my page.  Therefore, as an example, here is a LO I just completed.  This is for the current challenge 123 Challenge.  Now I don’t know that I totally fits the criteria, as this sometimes happens with me. (probably don't quite have enough pink, but hey it is NOT my favourite colour LOL)

The criteria were:

As you can see I did get a little carried away with the teal. - but I have the baby pink, then I have the word love on my scrapmatts arrow, and I have stripes on the washi tape (some is chevron, but some is blue)

And for a couple of close ups:

5. How do I become inspired and stay inspired:

As I said before, I am a challenge driven scrapper, so if I am not sure about where to go or what I am going to do next, I go and check out the latest crop of challenge sites.  Do a sketch or look at other scrappers who I admire and check out what they have been up to, and see if I am going to try one of the challenge that they are on the DT for.

6. What is my signature style:

What is my signature style.  Well I like to try new things, however I think this goes without saying, I like to sew.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have enjoyed my little share.

Next stops are on Monday 11th August:

Crece Thomas:  I used to work for Crece when she was a co-owner of my LSS (alas no longer with us).  She is a creative soul and I am also on the Design team with her at Scrapmatts.  She is so experimental in her style and I love the fact that she is never afraid to try new things.  Check her out HERE.

Leanne Jago: Leanne is someone who is super creative, not just scrapbooking.  She is also an amazing photographer and I love to watch her #skyporn and how she gets up close to the rust.  She has not been scrapping as much of late, however I ADORE her style of whatever goes and love to see what things I would have never thought of putting on a page, but she makes them work together.  HERE.

Quick and Easy Christmas Cards with Scrapmatts and a Shadow Box

I have some Scrapmatts Sharing to do today.  Here is a set of two cards and a Tag I made that are getting ready for Christmas.

Here is my tag, designed with the idea of getting organised for Christmas with tabs of what things need to be organised.

Then I created two super easy (made easy by the fabulous Scrapmatts Chipboard)

Then here is another shadow box I have created, featuring a heat frame, some vines and dragon flies.

Look at that Charms Creations Heavenly Heart, layered on the Scrapmatts Chipboard,  I love how well the different textures work together.

Thanks for looking, I have been doing a lot of other Scrapping, just not much I can share at the moment.
